寺田克也伝説

・仕事でぶっ続けで10時間ぐらい絵を描いて、やっと休憩に入ったと思ったら
　休憩時間に絵を描いている寺田。取材の人が「休まないんですか？」と聞いたら
　「え、今休んでるけど？」と一言。寺田によると好き勝手に制限も縛りも何もなく
　自由に絵を描くことは「癒し・休息」なのだという。

・美術教室で先生に言われたものを描くのがつらくてつらくて
　全然違うものをハイクオリティに描いたら先生に怒られたので、教室を辞めた。
　描きたいものを描いて何がいけないのか、絶対に俺が正しいと思っていたという。

・巨匠、鳥山明がパソコンでの彩色方法を教えてもらいに1ヵ月ほど寺田のもとで修業した。

・どうしても絵が描けない状況（電車やバスの中）では、目の前にあるもの（前のオバサンとか手すりとか）を
　見てすぐに目を閉じ、その直前に見たものを頭の中で模写して遊んでいる。

好きこそものの上手なれ。
どうしたら絵を上手くなれるのか？じゃない。
絵が好きなら、ひたすら描き続け、自然に
上手くなっているはずなのである。
つまり、絵が下手な人は、絵を描くことがそれほど好きではない。
